Wendy Pye devises this Death Salon™ in collaboration with Luna Arts. It is inspired by the spirit of the eighteenth-century salon- a gathering for cultural exchange and reflective discussion.

The evening is curated and features talks and presentations by two to three creatives, including visual artists, performers, or writers. Each guest presents how their creative practice or a specific project helped them confront mortality or grief. Through visual presentations and personal stories, they share their creative journey, both practical and emotional, which becomes relatable and resonant for the audience.

A full Death Salon™ experience also includes the presence of an empty, shrouded vessel for remembrance, designed by Luna Arts, Dagmara Rudkin (Sacred Wings). It serves as a focal point for reflection and remembrance while quietly challenging traditional values surrounding mortality.

The Salon highlights how the creative process can support wellbeing and help process complex emotions, while engaging with death and grief in a meaningful and compassionate way through shared experiences as a community.

We presented Death Salon™ at Fabrica Gallery in Brighton in March 2025 and March 2026, both sold-out events supported by Arts Council England. Each edition received an overwhelmingly positive response, and we are now considering touring the project.
