Home / Cloth & Memory Workshop: Reclaiming the Ritual of Shroud Making

Led by textile artist and shroud maker Dagmara Rudkin (Sacred Wings), this intimate adult workshop (for up to 12 participants) invites participants to explore the resonance of cloth and textiles in their lives, deepening their connection to its personal significance and its link to the ancient ritual of shrouding.

Through conversation and hands-on work with textiles of personal significance, the workshop offers a space for remembrance, connection, and gentle dialogue about death, alongside reflection on alternative personal choices—within a compassionate and supportive group.

This workshop was developed as part of an Arts Council–funded R&D project, with pilot workshops previously held at St Michael’s Hospice (Hastings) and Making Space Residency at Fabrica Gallery (Brighton).
